Can you see detailed text messages on an AT&T bill? ›

FYI: Wireless usage including call, text, and data history is available for up to 16 billing periods. The content of text or video messages isn't visible or accessible to anyone on the account. How do I add usage details to my paper bill?

How do I check my wireless data usage from my AT&T mobile device? Simply dial *3282# from your AT&T wireless phone. For Spanish, dial *3286#. We'll send a text message with your data and messaging usage.

No. AT&T, or any provider, does not keep content, only date and time. If the phone is automatically backed up (to the Cloud for example) there should be the original messages archived but only your son could access them, not you.

AT&T has no access to this system and all messages through iMessages will show up as data on your billing statement. If you have an android and you're using RCS Advanced Messaging that will also show up as data on your billing statement.
