How to log into My Vol State student portal (2024)

Follow the steps below for your first log in, or jump to the typical log in steps.

First Time Log In Steps:

The first time you log in you will need your V# and your VolState email address. These are bothlisted in your VolState acceptance letter. If you can't find your V# and/or email address please contact the VolState Records office at615- 230-3466.

Navigate to the portal log inpage

1. Start on the Vol State homepage, www.volstate.edu.

2. Click on the My VolState link.

   • on a computer it will be in the top blue bar.

   • on phone you will click on the red hamburger (three lines in top right) menu to see the top bar options.
     

3. Once the My VolState Portal log in page opens, read and then close the LoginIssues notification.

Set your password

1. Click on the green "Set/Reset Password" button.
   

2. Follow the Password Reset InstructionPrompts. You will need your V#, found in your acceptance letter, to setup your password.

Log in to the portal

1. Once you've set your password, go back to the My VolState Portal loginpage and click the "Sign in with Microsoft" button.
   

2. Enter your VolState email address and click "Next."You will need your VolState email address, found in your acceptance letter, to log in.

3. Enter your newly created password and click "Sign In."

Set up multi-factorauthentication

1. The first time you log in you will be promptedto set up multi-factor authentication (MFA). Follow the steps in this article to set up MFA-How do I set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)?
2. Once you finish the MFA set up, you should be taken to the portal.
