In the space of six months, seven members of Global X ETFs’ leadership team have left the firm.
These exits began with chief executive Luis Berruga leaving in November of last year, and include the CFO, the CIO, andCMO.
The departures have not gone unnoticed. As Citywire reported earlier this month, gatekeepers at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, US Bank and PNC are reviewing products run by the ETF shop amid the turnover. Morningstar director of passive strategies research Bryan Armour has described the growing list of departures as ‘cause for concern.’ Other media outlets have also raised alarm bells about what is going on at the firm, with one headline stating that the departures ‘raise questions over the future’ of the company.
