2 A2 The Daily News Leader, Wednesday, May 19, 1999 Obituaries Mrs. Mildred D. Thomas STAUNTON Mrs. Mildred Leona (Davis) Thomas, 84, of 513 Ritchie and wife of Leonard S. Thomas, died at 9:10 p.m.

Monday (May 17, 1999) in the University of Virginia Hospital. She was born on June 4, 1914, in Haywood, WVA, a daughter of Joseph Goff and Georgia Estie (Swiger) Davis. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Thomas was employed by the former Shoe Mart. She was a member of Jollivue United Methodist Church, the UMW, the WCTU, and was a member of AARP NO.

3842. Surviving in addition to her husband of fifty-six years are a brother, Robert J. Davis of Staunton, special nieces, Georgia F. Carter of Buffalo Gap and JoEtta F. Hemp of Covington.

A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday (May 20, 1999) in the Jollivue United Methodist Church by the Rev. C. Randall Harlow and Revs. Lee Robbins and Douglas A.

Desper. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will include John Rowe, Russell Wilkerson, Jack Arey, Earl Cash, and Leland Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Adult Sunday School Class of the church. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 this evening in the Henry Funeral Home and other times at her residence.

Fonner HARRISTON Katherine Sue Claytor Fonner, 37, of 1601 Patterson Mill Road, Harriston, died Monday night, (May 17, 1999) at her home. She was born Feb.

22, 1962, at Harrisonburg, a daughter of Mickey. Claytor Brinkley of Crimora and Donald Gene Claytor. She was a member of Harriston Christian Center. She was a 1980 graduate of Wilson Memorial High School, received an A.S. at Blue Ridge Community College, Weyers Cave, and her bachelor's of science at Middle Tennessee State University at Murfreesboro, Tenn.

She was a former employee of WKCY, WBOP and WNRL radio stations and TBS television. She had also been employed by the Kroger Company and was employed at Best Buy at the time of her death. In addition to her mother, survivors include her former husband, Tom Fonner of New Martinsville, W.Va.; a son and daughter, Chris and Mary Katherine Fonner, both at home; a stepfather, Roy Brinkley of Crimora; a step-brother, Steven Brinkley of Hampton; a step-sister, Rita Daniel of Middlebrook; a brother, Tracy Claytor of Powhatan; a sister, Missy Claytor McCaslin of Kingsport, and her maternal grandmother, Gladys B. Cook of Crimora. A service will be conducted at 11 a.m.

Thursday at McDow Funeral Home by the Rev. Durwood Cowan, with burial at Augusta Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jerry Powel, Randy Williamson, Steve and Mike Lawson, Dennis Cook and Preston Fitzgerald. Pd Ob Diane H. Fauber GREENVILLE Diane Rae (Harris) Fauber, 54, of U.S. 11, died Tuesday (May 18, 1999) at her residence. She was born May 12, 1945, at Augusta County, a daughter of Thomas Wheeler and Bertha Mae (Nuckoles) Harris. She was a homemaker.

In addition to her husband, Ralph Gordon Fauber, who preceded her in death on Feb. 24, 1997, she was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Wayne Harris on Feb. 24, 1974. Survivors include two sons, David G. of Steeles Tavern and Mark A.

Fauber of Greenville; seven sisters, Juanita Lowery, Ada Brown, and Hanna Lowery, all of Stuarts Draft, Pauline McBurney of Deltona, Elizabeth Small of Nellysford, Barbara Lipscomb of Port Royal, and Florence Marcus of Greenville; and two grandchildren. A service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Thursday at the Greenmont Mennonite Cemetery, Stuarts Draft by the Rev. Evan E. Brenneman.

Tommy A. Harris 30, of 617 Pelham Drive, Waynesboro, was charged with aggravated assault and violating a protective order. Police said Harris and his wife were fighting when he cut her neck several times with the knife. The woman had taken out a protective order against Harris several days ago, police said. She suffered minor injuries, police said.

Craigsville man charged after crash CRAIGSVILLE A Craigsville man was charged after a crash at 6:40 a.m. Tuesday on Va. 601 0.1 mile north of Va. 632, according to Virginia State Police. Police said a car driven by Jeffery S.

Cook, 26, of Box 76, Craigsville, pulled out from a private drive and hit a car driven by Brian N. Nichols, 26, of Rt. 1, Box 271B, Craigsville. Police estimated damage to Cook's 1988 Dodge pickup at $5,000 and damage to Nichols' 1998 Toyota pickup at $5,000. Cook was charged with failing to yield, police said.

Driver charged in three-car accident STAUNTON A Staunton man was charged after a threecar crash at 5:25 p.m. Tuesday on West Beverley Street at Park Boulevard, according to Staunton police. Police said that two cars, driven by James M. Hiner, 32, of 432 Tannehill and Cheryl M. Berry, 29, of 158 S.

Waverly were stopped for traffic. A car driven by Eric C. Horwath, 26, of 223 N. Jefferson rear-ended Ms. Berry's car, pushing it into Hiner's car, police said.

Police estimated damage to Hiner's 1979 Chevy at $300, damage to Ms. Berry's 1997 Chevy at $1,000 and damage to Horwath's 1986 Oldsmobile, owned by Guity's Pizza and Pasta of Staunton, at $1,000. Wolfe, 19, fell asleep while he was driving, hit a telephone pole and a guardrail and went down an embankment. Police estimated damage to his 1991 Eagle coupe, owned by Chrystal G. Malcom of Monterey, at $6,000 and damage to the guardrail and telephone pole at $7,000. Wolfe was charged with reckless driving, police said. Driver charged in parking lot wreck WAYNESBORO A Lyndhurst man was charged after a crash at 10:08 p.m.

Monday at the Wilco parking lot on West Main Street, according to police. Police said Travis W. Farris, 20, of B-4 Creekside Drive, Lyndhurst, was trying to park his car when he hit a parked car in the side. Police estimated damage to Farris' 1977 Ford truck at $500 and damage to the parked car, owned by Anthony Cox of 202 S. Waverly Staunton, at $3,000.
