I bought some ties on ebay. I have a feeling they are fake but I am not very familiar with these brands. These ties were to be given as gifts. The seller has excellent feedback (99.9%) with may transactions (2500+), and they have been selling these similar ties for 2 years. I'm hoping someone can help me identify whether these ties are fakes. Here are the pictures:

The Dunhill and Zegna labels doesn't look the same as those I have. Doesn't look realistic to me.

The Dunhill looks exactly like one of my own (which I know to be authentic). ÂMy Dolce&Gabbana tie looks modestly different: the tipping has more of the brand logo on it and the actual label is slightly different; I'm not too sure that necessarily means that yours is a fake.

I would have thought that you would take a harder line toward counterfeiting what with possibility of fake Four In Hand ties appearing in the marketplace.

Hahaha. I guess I'm just anal retentive and I don't want to scammed, give a gift that is a fake, and allow others to be ripped off. I think the biggest clue that I have that these are fakes are found on the dunhill tie. Specifically, the word "Establ ished" Â printed on the tie with the spacing in the middle of the word. I highly doubt that this typo is found on dunhill ties. My next clue is the "Z" on the Zegna tie is slightly different than the "Z" on other Zegna goods that I own. Specifically, there is a small break (not solid) inside the Z where there is no stiching, but you can barely notice it in the picture.

Could you post an extreme close-up of the Zegna label and the tipping? That might help.

I am remiss for not having noticed that earlier. Perhaps their authenticity is suspect.

Good idea about a closer view. Here they are of a different "Zegna" for variety.

They look pretty genuine to me, because they look to be very nice quality silk and in decent looking construction (which varies between the ties you posted). Typically when you get something fake off eBay it is pretty easy to catch, because the first thing you think is, "Wtf? Armani designed this? This is a POS." Well, it probably wasn't Armani who designed this one (although if it's from Collezioni, he wouldn't have designed it anyway).

Can't speak for the Dunhill but the Zegna and Dolce look authentic to me. However, they do seem to be very old stock from at least 10 years ago.
