How to update old Snc version

Postby ears54 »
2012 Flex SEL with basic Sync. No NAV, AppLink, etc. Recently having problem where Sync does not seem to recognize phonebook entries and voice command calling does not work at all now. Checked a few things on SyncMyRide and it looks like my version of Sync only recognizes iPhone. My wife and I both have Samsung Galaxy S5. I've downloaded an update for Sync on the chance that support for more phones is included, but instructions to install update are sketchy and Sync doesn't seem to recognize update files. So first, I have a couple of questions. Does the basic Sync that came with my Flex support phones other than iPhone? Is the update I have, DR3T-14D544-AG, correct for my Flex? Does anyone have or know of definitive instructions for installing the update.
As an aside, I also tried to run a Vehicle Health Report, but when Sync tried to upload I was given a message that I have not registered that free service. I've looked all over SyncMyRide and cannot locate where to register the service.
Thanks

Did you go to phone settings and do connect bluetoot? I have a 2011 and an android and that's how mine does the hands-free texting and calling. I had to activate the bluetooth on my phone, plug it into the jack in the center console and then go into phone settings and go to connect bluetooth. Should give you a code, that you punch into your bluetooth on the phone to connect.

Also don't open the file, just copy the whole folder to your USB Stick.

I just checked and you have the current version. Below is the history page from my Fordowner account.
You might try to erase the phone from Sync, erase Sync from your phone then re-pair.
You can also try the re-boot and if all else fails pull fuse F14 in the SJB for 30 minutes

HMMM, mine says:
Your SYNC is up-to-date!
The last confirmed install of an update to your vehicle was on:
December 13, 2013
SYNC2 v3.6
Can this be right? 2013 is the latest?
