Directions

Driving from I-55

  • Take I-55, the Stevenson Expressway, northbound to Lake Shore Drive/Highway 41 North.
  • Take LSD north to the 18th Drive exit.

Driving from I-290

  • Take I-290, the Eisenhower Expressway, east to Congress Parkway.
  • Take Congress Parkway to Columbus Drive.
  • Turn right and take Columbus Drive south to the 18th Drive exit.

Driving from I-90/94

  • Take I-90/94, the Dan Ryan Expressway, north to the Lake Shore Drive/22nd street exit.
  • Stay to the right and exit to LSD.
  • Take LSD/Highway 41 north to the 18th Drive exit.

Driving from I-94

  • Take I-94, the Kennedy Expressway, south to the Congress Parkway exit.
  • Follow Congress Parkway to Columbus Drive.
  • Turn right on Columbus Drive and follow Columbus south to the 18th Drive exit.

Parking

Parking Lots are used daily for visitors, museum guests and events. Parking rates and lots are determined by the activities on the museum campus. Guests may reserve their event day parking in advance by pre-purchasing a parking spot in one of our lots - click on the Buy Advance Parking link below.

Daily Parking

Guests of the Museum Campus may park in several open lots on non-event days. The North Parking Garage, East Museum Lot and Adler Planetarium Lot are all open. No overnight guest parking is permitted.

Event Parking

There are several options for parking around Soldier Field. The North Garage, Waldron Deck and the South Parking Lot are reserved for those with season coupon parking for Bears Event Days. All other events are open to cash parking and pre-purchased parking at www.SoldierFieldParking.com.

Parking lots will open approximately four (4) hours before kickoff for Bears and Fire games or before the event begins. Parking lots will close one (1) hour after the conclusion of the event for night events. Rates vary for all events. Please check the event listing under “Events” pages to parking rates for each event.

Fans without full Bears season coupons can park at the Southwest Parking Facilities at McCormick Place Lot B or in the Millennium Park Garage and utilize the free shuttles to the stadium. The parking shuttles only operate on Chicago Bears game days and the drop-off and pick-up area is located on 18th St., just west of Lake Shore Drive. Both shuttles continue until 2 hours after the game.

There is also cash parking available at McCormick Place Lot C - Lakeside and 18th. Shows at McCormick Place may limit the amount of cash spaces available on gameday.

Coupons

Bear game day parking coupons must be visibly displayed on the rear-view mirror of all vehicles. Coupons are required to park in the North Garage, Waldron Deck and South Lot. Cash will NOT be accepted at these parking entrances. For cash parking, go to the Adler Planetarium or Burnham Harbor lots.

Transportation

Taxi & Ride Share – Major Events

Ride Share drop off is located at the 18th Drive turnaround located just west of the exit ramp at 18th Drive. Ride Share pick-up is located at Columbus and Balbo just North of the stadium.

Directional Apps

It is encouraged that fans do not use directional apps like Google Maps, Waze or Apple Maps when approaching the stadium on event day as they do not take into account special road closures, traffic patterns and access routes allocated to specific carparks. In the end, using these apps will result in a longer commute.

Soldier field is easily accessible by the CTA Red, Green, and Orange Lines at the Roosevelt Station (3/4 mile walk to stadium entrance) CTA bus route #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express also provides a connection from Roosevelt Station to the stadium entrance on McFetridge Drive From Memorial Day to Labor Day, CTA bus route #130 Museum Campus provides service from downtown Metra stations to Soldier Field, Adler Planetarium, and Northerly Island

For fans coming from the South Side or south suburbs, Metra’s Soldier Field stop is the 18th Street Station, a short walking distance from Soldier Field. Please visit www.Metra.com for train times and stations.

Pick up & Drop Off

ADA Drop-Off & Parking

Disabled patrons may be dropped off on the circle drive (east side of the stadium) on Museum Campus Drive outside Gate 14. An ADA placard or license plate must be visible to the police and parking attendants, and the person to whom the placard or license plate is registered must be an occupant of the vehicle in order to access the Gate 14 drop-off. Due to traffic congestion after events, please do not attempt to return with your vehicle to the Gate 14 drop-off; you may take the courtesy cart from the Gate 14 drop-off to your vehicle. All parking lots on campus have ample ADA parking spots.

Party Buses & Limousines

Limousines will not be allowed to enter Soldier Field Campus starting 90 minutes after kick/main act/event start until one hour after the game is over. Violators are subject to ticketing, towing and prosecution.

Buses may drop-off and pick-up guests on Columbus Drive, north of Balbo. Buses cannot drop off or pick up guests on any other area roadway.

Oversized Vehicles / Limousines: Cash parking is located at the Adler Planetarium Lot, on a first-come, first-served basis for $160. Oversized vehicles (bus, camper or any vehicle that does not fit inside the lines of one designated regular-size parking space) can be reserved at the Adler Lot for $160 plus a $5 transaction fee by visiting www.SoldierFieldParking.com. When available, buses and RVs can also park at the 31st St. McCormick Place Lot B for $85 drive-up, $90 prepaid. Rates subject to change.

Is it safe to walk from Soldier Field at night? ›
