Is the ACOTAR Book 6 Release Date Announced?

No, the release date for the sixth book in the A Court of Thorns and Roses series hasn’t been announced yet. In fact, there is no information about the book other than Sarah J. Maas revealing she was working on the next book in the series.

Recently, the author of this book appeared on a show called “Live Talks Los Angeles” as part of the promotions for the release of her second book in the Crescent City series titled House of Sky and Breath.

On this show, she dished out all about her books, which included the possibility of a next book in the A Court of Thorns and Roses series. Even the author’s official website refers to the ACOTAR series as an ongoing series, so that’s good news.

She confirmed in the interview that she was currently in the process of drafting the next book in the A Court of Thorns and Roses series. However, Maas didn’t let anything else slip about the sixth book.

Depending on where she is in the writing stage, details can change from draft to draft, so understandably, she doesn’t want to say anything specific yet.

The release date is most likely not going to be anytime soon. She did write the first few books quite quickly, but at this point, the author has many series to work on, along with other writing projects. According to Publishers Weekly, Sarah J. Maas has signed a four-book deal with Bloomsbury Publishing, which doesn’t include the books she’s already writing.

Fans of the author are patiently waiting for any news of when the next book could come out. For those who haven’t caught up with their reading or need a refresher on the plot, the next section is one you will want to pay attention to.

What is the Plot of A Court of Thorns and Roses Series?

The first book in the series, A Court of Thorns and Roses, introduces us to a young woman who goes by the name of Feyre Archeron. Her life changes when she kills a wolf in the woods and is then captured by Tamlin, who is a fae. To make things worse, he is a High Lord of Prythian, making him quite important in the fae world.

Feyre is expected to face punishment for killing the wolf, and the last place she expects to end up is living with Tamlin at his estate. The first book introduces her to the fae world and the dangers lurking.

In the second book, A Court of Mist and Fury, Feyre ends up becoming High Fae even though she still clings to her humanity as much as she can. She became High Fae after surviving many trials. Eventually, we are introduced to Rhysand, the High Lord of the Night Court, with whom Feyre had to make a deal to save Tamlin’s people and herself. Throw in some fae politics, and things get very messy very quickly.

The third book, A Court of Wings and Ruins, furthers Feyre’s story, who is back in Tamlin’s court but only to spy on him. This book is quite interesting in the series because it sees Feyre getting even more involved in fae politics, which can be quite deadly.

War is also on the horizon, and she must figure out who she can trust as it’s not easy to gather her allies while navigating court and a war close to breaking out.

The fourth book is A Court of Frost and Starlight, which sees Feyre involved with Rhysand and is now High Lady of the Night Court. It’s a position she is trying her best to adjust to—especially now that the war is over. Recovering from a war is never easy, especially when you are a leader trying to keep your people safe.

With the Winter Solstice approaching, this is as good a time as any to try to raise the spirits of her people. It seems impossible, but if anyone can do it, it would be Feyre.

In the fifth book, A Court of Silver Flames, Feyre isn’t the main character, but her sister, Nesta Archeron, is the focus. She is now living in the Night Court but is not adjusting very well.

There is also Cassian, the General of the Night Court, who is dealing with his own demons. The two seem to have a connection and constantly end up in each other’s presence. Whether they want to admit it or not, it isn’t just temper or irritation that comes out when they are together. There’s something else brewing, too!

It’s rumored that the sixth book might continue Nesta’s story, but again, these are just rumors and not something that is a hundred percent confirmed yet.

Conclusion

The A Court of Thorns and Roses series is the perfect blend of romance, fantasy, and fae. Who doesn’t love fae? They can be clever and cruel creatures but are pretty fascinating.

Whether the plot of the sixth book in the series ends up focusing on Feyre or Nesta truly doesn’t matter. Fans of this book will just be happy that one of their favorite series is going to be continued. If Nesta is the focus, we’ll get to see what will happen between her and Cassian.

But all that is just conjecture at this point because no information about the upcoming book is announced other than the fact that the author revealed that she’s working on it. So, let’s all wait for the announcement of ACOTAR book 6, and then we’ll have a proper conversation on this matter!
