And if you’re anything like me, then you were probably also desperate to have one of these on your bookshelves. So, I’ve compiled the absolute best miniature book nook ideas.

Are Book nooks popular?

The book nook trend seems to have originated with a Japanese model maker called Monde. The booknooks subreddit has since grown from 0 to over 47.1k members. Both BBC and Buzzfeed have written articles on the trend. And some TikTok videos on book nooks have millions of views.

If you’re not crafty, then you can purchase pre-made book nooks. These can be expensive and can cost between £100 – £200.But why are booknooks so expensive? Book nooks are handmade and often have incredible attention to detail. Consequently, they can take a long time to make. You also have to factor in the cost of materials and shipping costs.

Wow, I am obsessed with this book nook! This is a fully assembled shelf insert. It’s made from high-quality maple plywood and each building is hand painted. A mirror at the back also creates the illusion that it’s deeper than it really is.

This is from a star seller on Etsy who has a history of 5 star reviews. And the medieval style would look really good on dark wood or with fantasy books. It’s a warm, cosy looking alley peeking out from in between your books.

I haven’t been able to get this shelf insert out of my head since I first saw it. As I said earlier – I’m a huge Lord of the Rings fan. And this Elven valley is insanely beautiful.

It’s made from wood and crafted using lazor cutting. They also offer a bookend version. And an option for personalisation – something I don’t see offered very often with book nooks.
